| TIME COMMITMENT | We ask for a six month commitment from each volunteer. Frequency of volunteer time will vary for each program. Times are listed in each job description. Some times are weekly and others times are as needed. |
| DRESS CODE | Wear appropriate clothing for the program volunteering for, such as heavy pants when working with the dogs. Remember you are representing the HS of S. Please wear sturdy shoes as walkways may be wet. |
| RESTRICTED AREAS | The following areas are restricted unless volunteer is trained and scheduled in the specified area: Cat isolation, dog isolation, and the Vet room. |
| PUBLIC RELATIONS | Volunteers are expected to project a courteous and professional demeanor when dealing with the public. Please do not discuss policy issues with members of the public unless you have been thoroughly trained to speak on these subjects. Also please refrain from divulging to the public information regarding our screening process for adoption to the public. |
| EUTHANASIA | Volunteers must recognize and accept euthanasia as a part of shelter operations at HS of S. Volunteers will never have to take an active part. We request each volunteer to never ask the disposition of an animal, should one be missing when you return to the HS. |
| PRINCIPLES & BELIEFS | While working in the capacity of a volunteer, individuals must reflect the Principles and Beliefs of the Humane Society of Sedona, regardless of their personal views. |
| TERMINATION POLICY | HS of S reserves the right to terminate a volunteer's service at the HS of S' discretion, if it appears to be in the best interest of the organization and/or volunteer. Possible grounds for termination may include, but are not limited to the following: gross misconduct or insubordination, being under the influence of alcohol or drugs, theft of property or misuse of HS of S equipment or materials, abuse or mis-treatment of animals or staff. Failure to adhere to policies or procedures, failure to satisfactorily perform assigned duties, and behavior, which is detrimental to the overall mission or success of the Humane Society of Sedona, Inc. |
