John Canon, Board PresidentJohn has served as the Humane Society Board President for two years and has been actively involved in all big shelter projects, from converting our donated RV into an adoption vehicle, upgrading equipment for Kids and Kritters Camp, and participating in most off-site adoption events. He is retired from a process automation company he owned and managed for 25 years. His wife Linda, volunteers at the shelter as well. They own a shepherd named Vixen and are avid golfers. |

George Tice, Past PresidentGeorge is the Humane Society's Past President and has served on the Board since 2006. His life has been one of service. He was in the Army and Air Force from 1944 to 46. He served under the New Hampshire governor's office and developed the state's first drug abuse prevention program. He's worked on New Hampshire's Mental Health Advisory Council. He also served as a Justice of the Peace, Fire Precinct Commissioner and Deputy Sheriff during that time. Since moving to Sedona in 1982 he has served with a myriad of local organizations, including Oak Creek Canyon Task Force, Sedona Historical Society, Sedona Elks Lodge, Verde Valley Forum for Public affairs and much more. |

Paul Claus, Vice PresidentPaul has been a Board member since 2009. Paul was actively involved in converting our donated RV into an adoption vehicle and the building of the shelter's dog park. He is semi-retired from his general contracting business Aspen Rien Associates. He was a custom home builder for 32 years; 22 of those being in Sedona. He is the HOA President of Cross Creek Ranch in Sedona. He lives there with his wife Shani and their adopted dog Lily. |

Linda Brecher, Vice PresidentLinda graduated from ASU and taught grade school in New York for over 35 years. When Linda and her husband Alan moved to Sedona in 2006, she immediately became involved with the Humane Society. She calls it her “second home!” Linda is also involved with other organizations, contributing her time and support. In 2011 she was awarded Arizona Community Foundation's “Volunteer of the Year!” She is very involved at the Humane Society. Linda is a Board Member, Gala Fundraising Chairwoman, Kids & Kritters Camp Organizer, and serves in other roles as needed. She also works at the Sedona Food Bank, the Community Center, and is on the planning committee for Sedona's annual Mitzvah Day |

Linda Abbot, SecretaryLinda served on the Board of Directors before serving as the Secretary of the Board. She and her husband are also volunteer dog walkers, assist with off-site events and fundraisers. |

Doug Hoffmeyer, TreasurerDoug has been a Board Member since 2009. He is currently Treasurer, and also serves on the Finance and By-Law Committees. He is a former CPA and CFO of a publicly-traded Telecom equipment manufacturer. Having previously owned two black labs, he and his wife Sheila now get their “dog fix” from walking shelter dogs several days a week. |
