There is a leash law in the City of Sedona. When in your yard, dogs must be contained

by a fence, or
by means of an electronic fence that keeps the dog on your property, or
on a chain or cable.

When out for a walk, dogs must be restrained

on a leash.
"voice control" is not adequate

There is no containment or leash law for cats.

If you find a lost animal, phone the shelter (282-4679) to see if someone in your neighborhood has reported it lost. If possible, you're encouraged to bring the animal to the shelter yourself.

If you're uncomfortable approaching the animal, phone animal control.

Animal Neglect and Abuse

If you observe or suspect animal neglect or abuse, report it to the animal control officer for investigation. Evaluate the situation and give as much information as you can when you call.
